RRS Logistics started as Haier’s logistics department. It evolved as an EMC into a so-called “Touchpoint platform” having significant growth, with the following characteristics: * It grew up to 2000 people. * It includes 30 MEs (district, divisions/product/functions). As an example, the Fitness ME and Warehouses * It entails a variable set of EMCs to address user scenarios * It massively relies on third parties (e.g., drivers) RRS Logistics described how MEs contribute to the overall EMC goals on delivery and warehousing across different geographies, stimulated by a competitive relationship. “We are a logistic system. Some MEs are responsible for the last kilometer delivery. Some for the trunk line. That's one dimension. The other dimension is by region. Different MEs are for different regions. There is some competition between MEs.” “Warehouse and delivery have a competitive relationship. You need to guarantee the delivery time, but you also need to negotiate with the warehouse. Now they are all in one EMC. Warehouse and Delivery need to guarantee they reach the same goal to provide a better user experience. Maybe Warehouse is 20%, Delivery 20%, Last kilometer is 20%.”
